Getting Started: Signing In, the Home Page, and Getting Help
Sign in, pick your company and location, use the Home page action cards, Publish, language switcher, Release Notes, and send feedback.
The Eatsy Orders backoffice at https://admin.eatsyorders.com is the web control panel for your restaurant. It is where you build the menu your customers order from, take action on incoming orders, run your marketing (coupons, promotions, loyalty, campaigns), manage your staff and roles, design your microsite and branded app, drive the in-restaurant TVs, connect delivery and POS integrations, and configure account-wide settings like your payment processor and takeout/delivery rules. Everything you do applies to the company and location you currently have selected at the top of the screen — most restaurants run a single location, but multi-location accounts switch between addresses (and even between separate companies) without signing out.
How to log in. Open https://admin.eatsyorders.com and sign in with your email and password. A brand-new account is asked to set its password on first login; if you forget it, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen (a 6-digit code is emailed to you). If your login is attached to more than one company, you'll first pick which business to manage on a company-selector screen; otherwise you land straight on Home. What you can see depends on your products and your permissions. Sidebar items and tabs are gated two ways: by the products on your account (for example Microsites, OnsiteApp, Wines, Catering, Branded App / WhiteLabel, EatsyAI) and by the permissions on your staff role (for example see-orders, see-menu, add-coupon). If a feature in this guide isn't visible to you, you most likely lack the product or the permission — ask your account admin. The appendix at the end of this index lists the exact gating for every sidebar section.
This guide walks you through the first things you'll touch in the Eatsy Orders backoffice (https://admin.eatsyorders.com): picking which business you're managing, getting your bearings on the Home page, switching between your locations, and finding help. The Home sales snapshot is covered separately in the reporting guide; this guide covers everything else on Home and the tools that surround every page.
What you can do here
- Pick which company you manage when your login is attached to more than one business (the company selector with a search bar).
- Read your Home page at a glance — the personalized greeting, a one-click button to open your live customer-facing site, the location picker, and four action cards (refer a restaurant, manage your menu, see what's new, set up your splash screen).
- Open your live On Site / Microsite in a new tab straight from Home.
- Switch the active location from the left sidebar (the location picker at the top of the menu) and from Home.
- Choose which data source you're looking at (All / EatsyOrders / Integrated) — this also changes which menu items appear in the sidebar.
- See what's new via the "What's New" referral pop-up and the full Release Notes page.
- Use the top navbar tools that follow you on every page — the Publish button (push your menu/site changes live), the app-language switcher (flag) to flip the whole interface between English and Spanish, the live-site preview phone icon, the notifications bell (Shift4 catalog import alerts), and your account menu (Settings, Change organization, Light/Dark theme, Log out).
- Get help — open the Need Help control and send the Eatsy team feedback from any page.
Where to find it
- Company selector — URL: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/selectcompany (only shown to logins tied to more than one company; otherwise skipped automatically).
- Home — Sidebar: Home (ES: "Home") · URL: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/home · Browser tab title: Home.
- Location picker — top of the left sidebar (on every page), and again on the Home page top-right.
- Source selector — the Source (ES: "Origen") dropdown near the top of the menu pages.
- Release Notes — Sidebar: bottom Release Notes (ES: "Release Notes" / "Notas de la versión") button · URL: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/release-notes.
- Need Help / Send feedback — the two icons at the very bottom of the left sidebar, under Need help? (ES: "Necesitas ayuda").
- Top navbar tools — the strip of controls at the top-right of every page: Publish, the Source dropdown, the language flag, the phone (live-site) icon, the bell (notifications), and your avatar (account menu).
Choosing which company to manage (the company selector)
Where to find it: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/selectcompany — shown right after you sign in, but only if your login is attached to more than one company. If your login has just one company, Eatsy sends you straight to Home and you never see this screen.
What it's for: Some managers have several separate businesses (companies) under one login. This screen is where you pick which one to work on. Everything you do afterward — menus, orders, settings — applies to the company you choose here until you sign out or come back to this screen.
The screen shows the Eatsy logo, the heading Select a company (ES: "Selecciona una empresa"), and the note "You have more than one of the companies registered to this account, chose one to continue." (ES: "Tienes más de una empresa registrada en esta cuenta, elige una para continuar."). Below that is a search box and a button for each of your companies.
How-to: pick a company
- Sign in. If you have multiple companies, this screen appears automatically.
- (Optional) Start typing a name in the search box (placeholder is the standard search field) to narrow the list. The search ignores accents and capitalization, so "cafe" finds "Café".
- Click the button with the company's name (each has an arrow on the right).
- The app loads that company's active location, your permissions, and its products, then drops you on the Home page.
Gotchas / notes:
- The list only shows companies your login is actually a member of — you won't see businesses you don't belong to.
- If no company matches your search, the list shows Nothing here (ES: "Nada que mostrar.") — clear the search box to see all of them again.
- If something fails to load (e.g. a server error), the screen shows an Error 500 state; refresh the page or sign in again.
- To switch companies later, sign out and back in (or return to this URL). To switch location within the same company, use the location picker described below — that does not require returning here.
The Home page
Where to find it: Sidebar Home · https://admin.eatsyorders.com/home
What it's for: Home is your landing page after sign-in. It greets you, gives you a fast way to jump to your live site, lets you pick the location you're managing, and offers shortcut cards into the parts of the app you'll use most.
Note on the sales numbers. If you also see dollar figures (Gross Sales, Net Sales, Tips, etc.) and an "Orders Trend" chart on Home, those are the sales snapshot and they're documented in the reporting guide (Home snapshot). They only appear for users with the
see-statisticspermission on a location that has Branded App, Microsites, or Catering. The items below appear regardless.
The greeting header
At the top-left, Home shows a time-of-day greeting followed by your name:
- Before noon: Good Morning 🌤️ (ES: "Buenos Días 🌤️")
- Noon to 5 PM: Good Afternoon ☀️ (ES: "Buenas Tardes ☀️")
- After 5 PM: Good Evening 🌙 (ES: "Buenas Noches 🌙")
Under the greeting is your first and last name, pulled from your user profile. There's nothing to click here — it's just orientation so you know whose account you're in.
"Go to On Site Web" button (open your live site)
Top-right of Home is an outlined button labeled Go to On Site Web (ES: "Ir a On Site Web") with a phone icon.
What it does: Opens your location's live customer-facing site (its microsite / On Site web address) in a new browser tab, so you can see exactly what your customers see.
How-to: preview your live site
- Make sure the location you want to preview is selected (see the location picker below).
- Click Go to On Site Web (top-right of Home).
- Your live site opens in a new tab.
Gotcha: The button uses the first web address configured for the selected location. If that location has no web address set up yet, the button has nothing to open and will just point at the dashboard. Set up the site under Channels → Website first.
You can preview your live site from anywhere, not just Home. The same action lives in the top navbar on every page as a small phone icon (the iPhone outline, to the left of the bell). Clicking it opens the selected location's first web address in a new tab — exactly like the Home button. So you don't have to return to Home to peek at your customer-facing site. See "The top navbar" below.
The location picker (on Home, top-right)
Next to the date filter, top-right, is the Location (ES: "Ubicación") dropdown.
What it does: Switches which of your company's locations Home (and the rest of the backoffice) is showing. Changing it reloads the page's data — orders, the snapshot, and the action cards — for the newly selected location.
How-to: change location from Home
- Click the Location dropdown (top-right of Home).
- Pick a location from the list.
- The active location switches immediately and the page refreshes its data.
Notes:
- The dropdown lists every location in your current company. While it's loading you'll see a spinner; if it can't load you'll see an "Error loading locations" message.
- This is the same active-location setting used by the sidebar location picker (below) — change it in either place and it sticks across the app.
- Unlike the sidebar picker, switching here does not pop a confirmation dialog; it switches right away.
The four action cards
Below the header (and below the sales snapshot if you have it), Home shows four shortcut cards. Each one is a single clickable shortcut — there's no form to fill in.
1. Refer a restaurant — "Earn for every restaurant you refer"
A banner card with the headline Earn for every restaurant you refer (ES: "Gana por cada restaurante que refieras"), a phones image, and a Refer now! (ES: "¡Refiere ahora!") button.
What it does: Promotes Eatsy's referral bonus. Clicking Refer now! sends you to the referral sign-up form (a Google Form at forms.gle/6CT24Y324SmrCTLQ7).
How-to: Click Refer now! on Home → the referral form opens → fill it in to refer another restaurant and qualify for the bonus.
Gotcha: This button replaces the current tab with the form (it navigates away from the backoffice in the same tab) rather than opening a new tab. Use your browser's Back button to return to Home.
2. Manage your menu
A card titled Manage your menu (ES: "Administra tu menú") with the line "Go to Resume and update it in real time!" (ES: "¡Ve al resumen y actualízalo en tiempo real!") and an arrow icon.
What it does: A shortcut to your menu's Resume overview.
How-to: Click the arrow on the Manage your menu card → it opens Menu management → Menus at the Resume tab (/management?tab=resume), where you edit menus, categories, products, and modifiers (see the menu management guide).
3. New features available!
A card titled New features available! (ES: "¡Nuevas características disponibles!") with a gear icon, the line "We have launched new tools to improve your menu management. Explore and discover how they can help you optimize your customers experience." (ES: "¡Hemos lanzado nuevas herramientas...!"), and an Explore now link.
What it does: A shortcut to the Release Notes page (documented below), where Eatsy lists what's new.
How-to: Click Explore now on the card → the Release Notes page opens.
4. Set up your splash screen — "Give a Great welcome"
A card with the headline Give a Great welcome to your customers by customizing the Splash! (ES: "Da una Gran bienvenida a tus clientes...") and a Set up your Splash screen (ES: "Configura tu pantalla de inicio") prompt with an arrow.
What it does: A shortcut to the splash-screen editor.
How-to: Click the Set up your Splash screen box → it opens Channels → Brand config at the Splash screens tab (/channels/brand-config?tab=splash-screens), where you customize the welcome/splash screen customers see (see the Channels: Brand, Website and Events guide).
Gotcha: Where each card sends you depends on your permissions and products. For example, the splash editor lives inside Brand config; if you don't have access to that area, the destination page will show a permission message even though the shortcut card is always visible on Home.
The "What's New" referral pop-up (auto-shows on Home)
Where to find it: Appears automatically on the Home page as a pop-up — you don't open it from a menu.
What it's for: A limited-time promo pop-up that highlights Eatsy's referral bonus offer when you arrive on Home.
The pop-up is titled What's New? (ES: "¿Qué hay de nuevo?"), shows a promotional image, the message "We are excited to offer a referral bonus for every restaurant that installs our tablet menu!" (ES: "¡Estamos emocionados de ofrecer un bono por recomendación para cada restaurante que instale nuestro menú en tablet!"), and two buttons.
How-to: respond to the pop-up
- To act on it: Click Let's go (ES: "Vamos") — this opens the referral form (
forms.gle/...) in a new tab. You can also click the image itself, which opens the same form. - To dismiss it: Click Remind me later (ES: "Recuérdame más tarde") or the X in the corner. The pop-up closes and you're back on Home.
Gotchas / notes:
- The pop-up only shows when it's been flagged to (it reads a "show pop-up" flag in your session), so you may not see it on every visit.
- Dismissing it with Remind me later or the X just closes it for now — it can appear again on a later visit.
- This is the same offer behind the Home "Refer a restaurant" card; both point to the same referral form.
Switching locations from the sidebar (the location picker)
Where to find it: The top of the left sidebar, on every page — it shows your name and the current location's name with an up/down selector arrow.
What it's for: This is the always-visible way to change which location you're managing, no matter which page you're on. The whole backoffice (orders, menus, settings, reports) follows the location you pick here.
The box shows your name on the first line and the active location's name on the second line (or none / "Ninguno" if no location is selected yet).
How-to: switch the active location from the sidebar
- Click the name/location box at the top of the sidebar. A small list of your company's locations drops down.
- Click the location you want to switch to.
- If you picked a different location, a confirmation dialog appears: "Change location to [name]?" (ES: "Cambiar ubicación a [nombre]?") with the note "You are about to change location, this will redirect you to the Resume page."
- Click Change Location (ES: "Cambiar ubicación") to confirm, or Cancel (ES: "Cancelar") to stay where you are.
- On confirm, the app switches to that location's products and data and takes you to the Home page.
Gotchas / notes:
- Clicking the location you're already on does nothing — no dialog appears.
- Switching here redirects you (to Home), so finish what you're doing on the current page first.
- While the location list loads you'll see a spinner; if it fails you'll see "Error loading locations." If your company has no locations, it shows "nothing here."
- This picker and the Home location dropdown control the same active location — they stay in sync.
The Source selector (All / EatsyOrders / Integrated)
Where to find it: A dropdown labeled Source (ES: "Origen") near the top of the menu/management pages.
What it's for: It controls which data source the menu screens show, for locations whose menu comes partly from an outside system (like a connected POS). It has three options:
| Option (EN / ES) | What it shows |
|---|---|
| All (ES: "Todos") | Everything — both Eatsy-native and integrated/external items. This is the default. |
| EatsyOrders (ES: "EatsyOrders") | Only items created directly in Eatsy Orders. |
| Integrated (ES: "Integrado") | Only items that come from an integrated/external system (e.g. your POS). |
How-to: change the source
- Open the Source dropdown near the top of a menu page.
- Pick All, EatsyOrders, or Integrated.
- The lists update to show only items from that source.
Gotcha — it hides sidebar items. Choosing Integrated (External) also hides sidebar tools that don't apply to externally-managed menus, including Massive upload (bulk menu upload). They reappear when you switch the Source back to All or EatsyOrders.
The top navbar (the toolbar on every page)
Where to find it: The thin bar across the top of every page in the backoffice. On the left is the Eatsy logo (click it to go Home) and the menu/collapse button for the sidebar. On the right is a row of tools — left to right: Publish, the Source dropdown (covered above), the language flag, the phone (live-site) icon, the bell (notifications), and your avatar (account menu).
What it's for: These are global controls that stay with you no matter which page you're on, so you can publish changes, switch the interface language, preview your site, check alerts, and manage your account from anywhere.
Publish button (make your menu/site changes go live)
At the far left of the navbar tools is the Publish (ES: "Publicar") button.
What it does — important. Edits you make to your menu (the catalog) and to your site content are saved as drafts first. They do not appear to your customers until you publish. The Publish button pushes both your catalog changes and your content changes live in one click. This is the action that actually makes your edits show up on your customer-facing site and app.
How-to: publish your changes
- Make and save your menu or site edits anywhere in the backoffice.
- Look at the Publish button at the top-right. When you have unpublished changes, hovering it shows the tooltip "Changes are available for publishing." (ES: "Hay cambios disponibles para publicar.").
- Click Publish. A short loading spinner appears on the button.
- On success a green confirmation appears: "Successfully publishing changes, it may take a few minutes to be available" (ES success message). Your changes go live within a few minutes.
Gotchas / notes:
- The button is grayed out (disabled) when there's nothing to publish — specifically, once both your catalog status and your content status are already up to date. A disabled Publish button means you have no pending changes, not that something is broken.
- Publish is per location — it publishes for the location you currently have selected. If you edited two locations, switch the location picker and publish for each.
- It can take a few minutes for published changes to appear on the live site/app, as the confirmation message warns.
App-language switcher (English ⇄ Spanish interface)
Next to the Source dropdown is a small flag icon — a US flag when the interface is in English, a Spanish flag when it's in Spanish.
What it does: Switches the language of the whole backoffice interface (every label, button, and message) between English (en-US) and Spanish (es-CO). This is different from your menu's customer-facing translations — it only changes the admin screens you see.
How-to: change the interface language
- Click the flag icon in the top navbar.
- A small menu opens with two choices, each with its flag: English (ES: "Inglés") and Spanish (ES: "Español").
- Click the language you want.
- The interface switches immediately and a green alert confirms: "Language changed." (ES: "Lenguaje cambiado.").
Note: The flag shown in the navbar always reflects the language currently active, so you can tell at a glance which one you're in.
Live-site preview (phone icon)
To the right of the flag is a phone icon (an iPhone outline).
What it does: Opens your selected location's live customer-facing site (its first web address) in a new browser tab — the same as the Go to On Site Web button on Home, but reachable from any page.
How-to: Click the phone icon in the top navbar → your live site opens in a new tab. (If the selected location has no web address set up yet, there's nothing to open — set up the site under Channels → Website first, as noted in the Home "Go to On Site Web" section.)
Notifications bell
Next to the phone icon is a bell icon.
What it does: Surfaces system alerts for the selected location. Today it reports the status of Shift4 marketplace catalog imports — for example, that an import (and its publish) finished successfully, that the import worked but publishing failed, or that the import failed. These arrive live while you're using the app.
How you'll notice it: When a new alert comes in, the bell turns into a filled, vibrating bell (highlighted in your brand color) to get your attention. With no alerts it's a plain outline bell.
How-to: read your notifications
- Click the bell icon in the top navbar.
- A panel headed Notifications (ES: "Notificaciones") opens. Each alert shows a title (e.g. "Status of the Shift4 marketplace integration.") , a one-line description of what happened, and the time it arrived.
- When there's nothing to show, the panel shows a crossed-out bell and the line "There are no more notifications to display." (ES: "No hay más notificaciones para mostrar.").
Gotcha: Opening the bell clears the alerts. Once you close the notifications panel, the list empties and the bell goes back to its plain (non-vibrating) state — so read the message while it's open. Notifications are tied to the currently selected location; you only see alerts for the location you have active.
Account menu (your avatar — Settings, Change organization, theme, Log out)
At the far right of the navbar is your avatar (profile photo, or a default circle). Clicking it opens your account menu. This is where you log out, switch the look of the app, jump to your account settings, and — if you manage more than one business — switch companies without signing out.
The top of the menu shows your name and the currently selected location (or "none" / "Ninguno" if none is selected), then these items:
How-to: open your account settings
- Click your avatar (top-right).
- Click Settings (ES: "Configuraciones").
- You land on Account → Settings (the Account tab) — your profile and account options.
How-to: switch companies from the navbar (Change organization)
Visibility: Change organization only appears if your login is attached to more than one company. With a single company you won't see this item.
- Click your avatar (top-right).
- Click Change organization (ES: "Cambiar organización").
- A pop-up titled Select a company opens. (Optional) Type in the search box to narrow the list — it ignores accents and capitalization. If nothing matches, it shows Nothing here (ES: "Nada que mostrar.").
- Click the button with the company's name.
- The app loads that company's active location, your permissions, and its products, then takes you to Home — all without signing out. To back out, click Cancel (ES: "Cancelar").
This is the same company-switching tool as the /selectcompany screen, but reachable any time from the navbar instead of only right after sign-in.
How-to: switch between Light and Dark mode
- Click your avatar (top-right).
- Click the theme toggle. It's labeled by the mode you'll switch to: if you're in light mode it shows a sun and Light mode (ES: "Modo claro"); in dark mode it shows a moon and Dark mode (ES: "Modo oscuro").
- The whole interface switches between the light and dark color scheme. Your choice is remembered for next time.
How-to: log out
- Click your avatar (top-right).
- Click Logout (ES: "Cerrar sesión") at the bottom of the menu.
- You're signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.
Note: Logging out is the clean way to leave or to fully switch accounts. To switch company or location you do not need to log out — use Change organization (above) for companies and the location picker for locations.
Release Notes (what's new in the app)
Where to find it: The Release Notes (ES: "Release Notes" / "Notas de la versión") button at the bottom of the left sidebar, just above the version number · URL: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/release-notes. The Home "New features available!" card opens this page too.
What it's for: A running changelog of what Eatsy has added, improved, and fixed in the backoffice, newest at the top. Use it to find out what changed when something looks new.
The page header reads What is new? (ES: "¿Qué hay de nuevo?") with the subheading Release Notes. On the left is a sidebar listing each version; the main area shows a card per version.
How-to: read the release notes
- Click Release Notes at the bottom of the sidebar (or Explore now on the Home "New features available!" card).
- The page lists each version as a card, newest first. Each card shows the version title, an Updated MM/DD/YYYY date (ES: "Actualizado"), and up to three sections:
- New Features (ES: "Nuevas características")
- Improvements (ES: "Mejoras")
- Bug Fixes (ES: "Corrección de errores")
- To jump straight to a specific version, click it in the left version list — the page scrolls smoothly to that card.
Notes:
- A section only appears on a card if that version actually had items of that type (e.g. a version with no bug fixes won't show a Bug Fixes heading).
- This is a read-only page — there's nothing to create or edit; it's informational.
- If the notes can't load you'll see an Error 500 state; refresh to retry.
Getting help: Need Help and Send Feedback
At the very bottom of the left sidebar there's a small help area headed Need help? (ES: "Necesitas ayuda") with two icon buttons, plus the app version number (v …) underneath. These are available on every page.
Need Help control
The first icon (a help/question icon) sits under the Need help? label; hovering it shows a Need help? tooltip. It's the quick visual cue that help lives here, alongside the Send feedback button.
Send Feedback
The second icon (a feedback icon) opens a form to message the Eatsy team directly. Hovering it shows a Send feedback (ES: "Enviar comentarios") tooltip.
How-to: send feedback to Eatsy
- Click the Send feedback icon at the bottom of the sidebar.
- The Send feedback (ES: "Enviar comentarios") dialog opens, with the note "Your feedback is very important to us. Please let us know what you think about our app and how we can improve." (ES: "Sus comentarios son muy importantes para nosotros...").
- Fill in:
- Subject (ES: "Asunto") — a short summary line.
- Description (ES: "Descripción") — the details (multi-line; placeholder "Type your message here..." / "Escribe aquí tus comentarios").
- Click Submit (ES: "Enviar"). To back out without sending, click Cancel (ES: "Cancelar") — that also clears what you typed.
- On success, a confirmation pops up: "Thank you for your feedback! We will work on improving your experience." (ES: "Gracias por sus comentarios. Trabajaremos para mejorar su experiencia."). Click Cancel to close it.
Form fields — Send feedback
| Field | What it does | Required / validation |
|---|---|---|
| Subject (ES: "Asunto") | One-line summary of your feedback. | Required — the Submit button stays disabled until this is filled. |
| Description (ES: "Descripción") | The full message (multi-line, ~4 rows). | Required — the Submit button stays disabled until this is filled. |
Gotchas / notes:
- Submit is disabled until both Subject and Description have text — you can't send a blank message.
- The feedback is tied to your currently active location, so mention which restaurant you mean if it's not obvious.
- Closing the dialog (Cancel or clicking outside) clears the fields, so anything you typed is lost — finish before you close.
Appendix: sidebar sections and their gating
Each sidebar item appears only if you hold at least one of its listed permissions and (where noted) your account carries the required product. Some accordions contain sub-items with their own gating (covered in the relevant guide). Permissions and products below match what the left sidebar shows for your account.
| Sidebar section | Type | Permission(s) needed | Product needed | Guide |

| Account → Locations | accordion item | see-place | — | Marketplace, Locations and Account Settings |
| Account → Settings | accordion item | any of see-account, see-dual, see-language, see-leads, see-place, see-payment, see-provider, see-takeout | — (individual tabs may need Microsites) | Marketplace, Locations and Account Settings |
| Trash | button | see-trash | — | Menu Management |
Cross-cutting gating notes:
- The Source selector (All / EatsyOrders / Integrated) hides Massive upload from the sidebar whenever the source is set to Integrated , because an integrated POS manages that menu. Switch back to All or EatsyOrders to get it back.
- A TV-only account (where Eatsy Orders Tv is the only product) collapses the sidebar down to just the TV items you can open (typically Manage Content and Playlist).
- Sidebar visible ≠ page openable. A few items use fewer permissions in the sidebar than the destination page checks (notably Customers, Loyalty, and Brand config), so a teammate can see the menu link but hit a "no permission" wall — grant the page-level permission too.
- Tab visible ≠ editable. Many Settings tabs open in read-only mode with just the
see-…permission; the matchingedit-…permission is needed to change anything. - Product access — a section unlocks if any product name contains the required word (e.g. Microsites, WhiteLabel), so bundled/longer product names can unlock gated areas.
