Eatsy TV: Content and Playlists

Upload images and videos into folders, build playlists with per-item durations, and assign content or playlists to screens.

Eatsy TV (the sidebar section is labeled Eatsy Orders Tv, ES: "Eatsy Orders Tv") turns any TV in your restaurant into a digital menu board / promo screen. This page covers how you upload images and videos into your media library and group them into playlists.

What you can do here

  • Upload content — add images and videos to your media library, organize them into folders, and move them around.
  • Build playlists — stack several pieces of content in a sequence, set how long each one shows, and reorder them by dragging.
  • Assign content or playlists to screens — push a single image/video or a playlist to one or more screens from the content or playlist lists.
  • Organize with folders — group content into folders so a large media library stays manageable.

Where to find it

In the left sidebar, open the Eatsy Orders Tv accordion. This guide covers these two items:

Sidebar itemURLWhat it covers
Manage Content (ES: "Administrar contenido")https://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/manage-contentYour media library: upload images/videos, folders
Playlist (ES: "Listas de reproducción")https://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/playlistsSequences of content with per-item durations

Visibility / access gating (important):

  • The Eatsy Orders Tv section is permission-gated, not product-gated. Unlike some Channels items (for example Website or Events) and some Settings tabs — which are locked behind a specific product and disappear if your account doesn't have it — the TV section and its items have no product requirement at all in the sidebar. What controls whether you see them is the permissions on your staff role (see below), not whether your account carries the Eatsy TV product.
  • Special case — a TV-only account: if Eatsy TV is the only product on your account, the sidebar collapses down to just the TV items and hides everything else. This is the one place the TV product changes the sidebar — and it only adds focus for TV-only accounts; it never hides the TV section from anyone else.
  • Each item is gated by a permission, so a staff member only sees the items they are allowed to use:
    • Manage Content requires the see-content permission.
    • Playlist requires the see-playlist permission.
  • If you open a page without the right permission, you see a "you do not have permission" message instead of the tool.
  • Within each page, the action buttons themselves are gated too (for example you may be able to see content but not add or delete it). Those finer permissions are noted under each feature below.

The end-to-end flow (read this first)

For content and playlists, the normal order is:

  1. Upload content (Manage Content) → put your images/videos into the media library.
  2. Build a playlist (Playlist) → optional but recommended; stack several pieces of content and set how long each shows.
  3. Assign to screens → from a content row (Set Screen) or a playlist row (assign-to-screen icon), push that media file or playlist to one or more TVs.

You can assign a single image directly to screens without ever building a playlist. Playlists are for when you want rotation.

Manage Content (media library)

Where to find it: Eatsy Orders Tv → Manage Contenthttps://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/manage-content

This is your media library: every image and video you've uploaded for your TVs. Header text: "Centralize and organize videos to ensure a consistent visual experience on your screens." (ES: "Centraliza y organiza videos para garantizar una experiencia visual coherente en tus pantallas.")

Items can sit loose or inside folders. Each content row shows a thumbnail/preview, the file name, "Uploaded on <date>", its duration, type, and file size.

Header buttons

  • New folder (ES: "Nueva carpeta") — creates an empty folder. Created with a default name like "New Folder 1". Requires the edit-content permission.
  • Upload file (ES: "Subir archivo") — opens the upload dialog. Requires the add-content permission.

Upload images and videos

Clicking Upload file opens the Upload file modal:

  1. Drag files onto the drop area, or click it to browse ("Click to add file or drag and drop here").
  2. Selected files appear as previews (images show as thumbnails, videos auto-play muted).
  3. Click Upload (ES: "Subir") to save them to your library. A progress bar shows "% Completed". Click Cancel (ES: "Cancelar") to back out.

Supported file types (anything else is rejected):

  • Images: JPG / JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG
  • Videos: MP4, WEBM, MOV (QuickTime)

Limits and gotchas:

LimitValueWhat happens if exceeded
Max files per upload5 files at onceMessage: "You can only upload up to 5 files at once." (ES: "Puedes subir un máximo de 5 archivos al mismo tiempo.")
Max file size200 MB per fileMessage: "<file> is larger than 200 MB." (ES: "<file> es más pesado que 200 MB.")
File typeimages and videos onlyMessage: "<file> is not a supported file type. Only images and videos are allowed."
  • Video duration is read automatically on upload and stored with the file (used later as the default play time in playlists). Images have no inherent duration.
  • The Upload button stays disabled until at least one file is added.

Content row menu (three-dot menu)

On a content row in the main library, the menu offers (each requires the matching permission):

  • Set Screen (ES: "Asignar Pantalla") — open the screen picker and choose which TVs should play this single file. Requires edit-content.
  • Add to playlist (ES: "Agregar a la lista de reproducción") — sends you to the new-playlist screen so you can build a playlist around this content. Requires edit-content.
  • Move to (ES: "Mover a") — move the file into a folder (see below). Requires edit-content.
  • Delete (ES: "Eliminar") — permanently remove the file from your library. Requires delete-content.

Gotcha: deleting content has no confirmation dialog on this list — it removes the file as soon as you click Delete.

Assign a media file to screens (Set Screen)

The Set Screen option opens Select screens to play (ES: "Seleccionar pantallas para reproducir"):

  1. Check one or more screens (each TV shows its Online/Offline badge).
  2. Click Confirm (ES: "Confirmar").

You can push the same media file to several screens at once.

Move content into a folder

The Move to option opens Select folder to move (ES: "Seleccionar carpeta para mover"):

  1. Select a destination folder from the list.
  2. Click Move (ES: "Mover").

You can also drag a content row onto a folder to move it.

Folders

  • Create: New folder button (requires edit-content).
  • Open: click a folder to go to its contents page — https://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/manage-content/folder/<id> .
  • Rename: click the folder name and type a new one; saves when you click away.
  • Set content (folder → screens): a folder's Set content action lets you pick which screens are associated with that folder's content.
  • Delete: the folder's delete control removes it (no confirmation dialog).

Inside a folder (folder contents page)

Where to find it: open any folder from Manage Content — https://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/manage-content/folder/<id>

This page lists the files inside that one folder. A back arrow returns you to the library. From here you can:

  • Upload file straight into this folder (same Upload file modal, same 5-file / 200 MB / image-and-video limits) — new files land in this folder automatically.
  • On each file: Move to another folder, or Delete it.

Note: the in-folder list shows fewer row actions than the main library (it does not offer "Set Screen" or "Add to playlist" here — use the main Manage Content list for those).

Playlists

Where to find it: Eatsy Orders Tv → Playlisthttps://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/playlists

A playlist is an ordered sequence of media that plays one item after another, looping automatically. Header text: "Organize and schedule content be displayed on your screens sequentially and automatically." (ES: "Organiza y programa el contenido que se mostrará en tus pantallas de forma secuencial y automática.")

Each playlist row shows its name, up to four stacked thumbnails of its content, its orientation (Horizontal/Vertical), and total Time.

  • New Playlist button (ES: "Nueva lista de reproducción") — starts a new playlist (first asks for orientation).
  • Per row: the assign-to-screen icon, plus a three-dot menu with Edit (requires edit-playlist) and Delete (requires delete-playlist).

Visibility

To create or edit playlists you need the add-playlist / edit-playlist permissions. Without add-playlist, the "Let's add a new playlist!" empty-state shortcut is hidden.

Create a playlist — step 1: choose orientation

Clicking New Playlist opens Choose Orientation (ES: "Elegir orientación") with text "Select a layout based on your screen orientation":

  1. Click the landscape image or the portrait image to pick the layout.
  2. Click New Playlist to continue to the builder. (The button stays disabled until you pick one.)

Why it matters: orientation should match how your TVs are mounted (Horizontal/Vertical).

Create / edit a playlist — step 2: the builder

The builder (URL https://admin.eatsyorders.com/tv/playlists/new for new, or .../tv/playlists/<id>/edit to edit) has two panels:

Left panel — the playlist itself shows running totals at the top:

  • Total duration (ES: "Duración total") — sum of all item durations.
  • Total size (ES: "Tamaño total") — combined file size.
  • # of item (ES: "N.° de elemento") — how many pieces of content are in the playlist.

Below that is the ordered list of chosen content. For each item you can:

  • Reorder by dragging items up/down — the play order follows the list top-to-bottom.
  • Set the duration — how many seconds that item stays on screen (entered as a time value). Videos start at their own length; images start at 0 and must be given a time.
  • Remove the item from the playlist.

Right panel — Media library (ES: "Biblioteca de medios") lets you add content:

  • A search box "Search library…" (ES: "Buscar en la biblioteca…").
  • Tabs All, Image, Video (ES: "Todo", "Imagen", "Video") to filter.
  • Click any item to add it to the playlist (items already in the playlist drop out of this list).

At the top of the builder:

  • The playlist name field (editable inline; defaults to "New Playlists").
  • Preview (ES: "Vista previa") — switches to a full preview of how the playlist will look in the chosen orientation.
  • Save (ES: "Guardar") — saves the playlist (a confirmation step appears before it commits).

Playlist form — fields & validation

FieldWhat it doesRequired / validation
NameThe playlist's name.Required. Max 255 characters. Error if empty: "Name is required".
OrientationLandscape or portrait, chosen in the orientation step.Carried in from step 1.
Content listThe ordered items in the playlist. You must add at least one piece of content, or you get "Add at least one content".
Duration (per item)Seconds each item is shown.Must be at least 1 second per item.
ScreensWhich TVs this playlist is assigned to.Optional; usually set later from the playlist list.

Gotcha: you can't save an empty playlist, and every item needs a duration of 1 second or more. If you add an image you must give it a play time before saving.

Assign a playlist to screens

From the playlist list, click a playlist's assign-to-screen icon to open Select screens to play:

  1. Check the screens that should run this playlist.
  2. Click Confirm.

Delete a playlist

The three-dot menu → Delete opens a confirmation modal ("Delete playlist" / ES: "Eliminar lista de reproducción"). Confirm to remove it. This requires delete-playlist.

The Manage Content and Playlist pages share a few pop-up windows (modals). The feature sections above tell you when each one opens; this section is the quick how-to for each pop-up itself.

Select screens to play modal (push one media file or playlist to many screens)

Opens from: Manage Content → a content row's Set Screen; a playlist row's assign-to-screen icon on the Playlist page; and a content folder's Set content action. Requires edit-content (content/folder) or edit-playlist (playlist).

Header: Select screens to play (ES: "Seleccionar pantallas para reproducir").

  1. The list shows every TV with its Online/Offline badge and "Now playing". Screens you already had assigned are pre-checked.
  2. Tick or untick screens — you can choose several screens.
  3. Click Confirm (ES: "Confirmar").

Notes: if the screen list is empty you see "Nothing here" with a "Let's add screen" shortcut; an error shows "Error 500." with the same shortcut. The same modal powers a folder's Set content — there it sets which screens are tied to that folder's content.

Select folder to move modal (file the content)

Opens from: Manage Content (and inside a folder) → a content row's Move to option. Requires edit-content.

Header: Select folder to move (ES: "Seleccionar carpeta para mover").

  1. The list shows your existing folders. Click one to select it (it highlights).
  2. When you are moving a file that is already inside a folder, an extra root entry appears so you can move it back out to the top level of the library.
  3. Click Move (ES: "Mover").

Gotcha: Move is disabled until you select a destination (folders only — the root option is always selectable when shown). If you have no folders yet, the modal shows "Nothing here" and there is nowhere to move to — create a folder first with New folder. On success you see "<name> updated". You can also skip this modal entirely by dragging a content row onto a folder.

Not part of Eatsy TV (so you won't find them here)

Two pop-ups with similar names belong to other backoffice sections, not Eatsy TV — don't go looking for them on the TV pages:

  • Edit video modal — the "Add new video" / "Upload your video here" pop-up lives in Popular Products (it sets a product's promo video, label "Popular product video"). It is documented with Menu/Products, not here.
  • Select media modal — the "Upload" drop-zone pop-up is used by the landing builder / brand image sections (cards, reviews, image galleries). The TV media library uses its own Upload file modal (covered under Upload images and videos), which is where the 5-file / 200 MB / image-and-video limits apply.

Tips and common gotchas

  • Upload caps: 5 files per upload, 200 MB per file, images and videos only (JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, SVG, MP4, WEBM, MOV).
  • Deletes on content lists are immediate. Deleting a content file or a folder from the list views does not ask for confirmation (playlists show a confirm step). Double-check before deleting.
  • Folder assignments fan out. Pushing a media file via Set Screen can target multiple screens at once; a folder's Set content ties screens to that folder's content.
  • Playlists need durations. Every item must show for at least 1 second; images start at 0 seconds and must be given a time before saving.
