Menu Management
Create menus, categories, products and modifiers, add photos with AI, translate items, and recover deleted items from Trash.
This is the core menu editor of your Eatsy Orders backoffice. It is where you build everything your customers see when they order: your menus, the categories inside them, the products (dishes/items) inside each category, and the modifiers (add-ons and options like "Size", "Toppings", "Extras") that customers pick when adding a product to the cart.
The four building blocks nest like this:
Menu → Categories → Products → Modifier groups (options)
A Product must belong to at least one Category. A Category must belong to at least one Menu. Modifier groups are reusable: you build a group once (e.g. "Choose your size") and attach it to as many products as you want.
What you can do here
- See a quick overview of every menu and its categories on the Resume tab.
- Create, edit, activate/deactivate, and delete Menus.
- Create, edit, and delete Categories, choose how they display (carousel / grid / list), give them an icon, and add a category photo.
- Create, edit, and delete Products, set price, stock status, preparation time, photos (with optional AI image generation/enhancement), attach modifier groups, categories, tags, and labels.
- Create, edit, and delete Modifier groups and the individual modifier items inside them, with rules for how many options a customer can/must choose.
- Recover anything you deleted from the Trash page.
Where to find it
- Sidebar path: Menu management (ES: "Gestión de menú") → Menus (ES: "Menús")
- URL:
https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management - Tabs (in order): Resume (ES: "Resumen"), Menus (ES: "Menús"), Categories (ES: "Categorías"), Products (ES: "Productos"), Modifiers (ES: "Modificadores"). Switch tabs with the buttons at the top of the page; the URL changes to
?tab=resume,?tab=menus,?tab=categories,?tab=products, or?tab=modifiers.
Visibility / access gating
- The whole page requires at least one of:
see-resume,see-menu,see-category,see-article,see-modifier. If you have none of these, the page shows a "you don't have permission" message. - Each tab only appears if you hold its "see" permission: Resume →
see-resume, Menus →see-menu, Categories →see-category, Products →see-article, Modifiers →see-modifier. - The blue New / Create buttons only appear if you also hold the matching "add" permission:
add-menu,add-category,add-article,add-modifier. The Edit / Delete row actions requireedit-*/delete-*permissions. - Integrated source gotcha: if the Source selector is set to Integrated (a menu synced from another channel/POS rather than created in Eatsy), the create/edit/delete buttons are hidden. You can only add and edit items when the active source is All or EatsyOrders.
Resume tab — menu overview & quick add
Where: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management?tab=resume · tab Resume (ES: "Resumen") · permission see-resume.
A read-friendly overview of all your menus. Each menu is shown as an expandable accordion so you can glance at which categories sit under which menu without opening the full editor.
Add a menu from here
- Click the blue New menu button (ES: "Nuevo menú") in the top-right (only shown if you have
add-menuand are not on an External source). - A side drawer slides in with the menu form (see the Menu form fields table below).
- Fill in the menu Name (required) and any other details, then save.
- On success you'll see a confirmation and the new menu appears in the overview.
Notes / gotchas
- If the list is empty you'll see a "nothing here" message with a Create new menu link that takes you to the full create-menu page (
/management/menus/new). - If loading fails you'll see an error state with the same Create new menu link.
- The question-mark icon next to the section title shows a help tooltip.
Menus tab — the menu list
Where: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management?tab=menus · tab Menus (ES: "Menús") · permission see-menu.
Lists all your menus in a table. Each row shows the menu name with a colored status dot (green = active, red = inactive), the last-modified date, an active toggle, and a row actions menu. The list loads more rows as you scroll.
Create a menu
- Click New menu (ES: "Nuevo menú") in the top-right. This opens the full create page at
https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management/menus/new(requiresadd-menu). - Fill in the Menu form fields.
- Click Save — a confirmation dialog appears; confirm to save.
- You're returned to the Menus tab and a success message shows.
Edit a menu
- Click anywhere on the menu's row, or open the row's ⋮ menu and choose Edit (ES: "Editar"). This opens
https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management/menus/{menuId}/edit(requiresedit-menu). - Change any fields, then Save and confirm in the dialog.
- If the menu has translations, a language selector appears so you can edit the name/description per language.
Turn a menu on/off (active)
- In the menu row, flip the active toggle (requires
edit-menu). - The status saves immediately; a "status changed" confirmation shows. An inactive menu (red dot) is hidden from customers.
Delete a menu
- Open the row's ⋮ menu and choose Delete (ES: "Eliminar") — shown in red, requires
delete-menu. (You can also delete from inside the edit page.) - A confirmation dialog appears. Confirm to delete.
- Deleted menus are not gone forever — they go to the Trash and can be recovered.

Gotchas
- You cannot save a product without attaching it to at least one category ("At least one category is required").
- Product gallery is limited to 3 files. Trying to upload more shows a "max images" notice.
- Uploading video requires the
can-upload-videopermission; otherwise only images are allowed. (Note: reels/videos may need to be H.264-encoded to play on iOS.) - Tags are mutually exclusive — only one of NEW/SALE can be active at a time.
Modifiers tab — the modifier groups list
Where: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management?tab=modifiers · tab Modifiers (ES: "Modificadores") · permission see-modifier.
Lists all your modifier groups. A modifier group is a set of options a customer chooses when adding a product — for example a group called "Choose your size" containing items "Small / Medium / Large", each with its own price. Groups are reusable across many products.
Search modifier groups
Use the search box to filter the list by group name, description, or by the names/descriptions of the items inside the groups. (The whole list is loaded at once, so search is instant.)
Create a modifier group
- Click New modifiers (ES: "Nuevos modificadores") top-right (requires
add-modifier). Openshttps://admin.eatsyorders.com/management/modifiers/new. - Fill in the Modifier group form fields, add at least one item, set the rules, and optionally attach it to products.
- Save and confirm in the dialog.
Edit a modifier group
- Open the group's row actions and choose Edit (requires
edit-modifier). Openshttps://admin.eatsyorders.com/management/modifiers/{modifierGroupId}/edit. - Make changes, Save, confirm.
Delete a modifier group
- Row actions → Delete (requires
delete-modifier), or from inside the edit page. - Confirm. Deleted groups go to the Trash.
<a id="modifier-group-form-fields"></a>
Modifier group form fields
| Field | What it does | Required / validation |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Group name (e.g. "Choose your size"). | Required. Max 255 characters. |
| Write description | Optional description. | Optional. Max 255 characters. |
| Active toggle | Whether the group is in use. | Defaults to on. |
| Items section | The individual options inside the group. Click Manage Items to pick existing items, or Add item to create a new one inline. Drag to reorder; each item has its own name and price; remove with the unselect control. | At least one item is required. |
| Rules – minimum options (slider, 0–15) | The smallest number of options a customer must choose. | Required. |
| Rules – maximum options (slider, 1–15, or Unlimited toggle) | The largest number of options a customer may choose. Toggle Unlimited to remove the cap. | Required. Maximum must be ≥ minimum. |
| Rules – times each option can be chosen (slider, 1–15, or Unlimited toggle) | How many times the same option can be selected (e.g. "double cheese"). | Required. Cannot exceed the maximum. |
| Products section | Products this group is attached to. Click Manage products to attach. | Optional. |
| Per-language name / description | Translation selector when editing. | Translated name required; description max 500. |
Working with items inside a group
- Add item (ES: "Añadir ítem") creates a brand-new item named "New item" that you then rename and price inline (requires
add-item). You can also swap a freshly-created "New item" for an existing one. - Manage Items (ES: "Gestionar ítems") opens the Select modifier items dialog to bulk-check existing items into the group (with its own search box).
- Editing an item's name/price saves immediately to that item.
- Removing a temporary "New item" you just created also deletes that item.
Gotchas
- A group must have at least one item to save.
- The three rule numbers are linked: maximum ≥ minimum, and times-each ≤ maximum. The form blocks invalid combinations.
- Turning on Unlimited for maximum sets it to 0 (no cap) and resets times-each to 1.
Photos & AI image generation
The image gallery used by Categories (1 image) and Products (3 images) supports three ways to add a photo:
- Upload your own: click Add media and drop/select a file. (Video allowed only with
can-upload-video.) - Generate with AI (only if your account has the EatsyAI product): on an empty gallery you'll see a Generate with AI button.
- Enhance/replace an existing photo with AI: from a photo already in the gallery.
The AI Image modal (ImageEnhancementModal)
Opening the AI image tool shows a two-panel dialog (configuration on the left, preview on the right) with two modes:
- Generate (ES: "mode_generate") — create a brand-new image from a text description (required) plus an optional single example image you upload.
- Edit (ES: "mode_edit") — improve an existing photo (this mode appears only when you opened the tool from an existing image).
Controls:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Description | What you want the image to look like. Required in Generate mode. |
| Example image | (Generate mode) one reference image you can drag/drop or browse to. Max 1. |
| Format | Output size: Original (matches the source image), Horizontal (1920×1080), or Product (1080×1920, available when generating from scratch). |
| Style | Promotional, Commercial, Elegant, or Modern. |
| Generate / Enhance button | Runs the AI. |
| Add image / Replace image | After generation, add the result to the gallery or replace the original. |
Gotchas / limits
- AI image generation uses a monthly quota. When the quota is exceeded you'll see a warning and a Request quota increase button. While a request is pending, the button is replaced by a "request pending" note.
- Generation can take a while; the tool waits up to about 2.5 minutes before timing out.
- Output is always PNG. Click the enhanced image to view it full-size.
- The AI button only shows when your account has the EatsyAI product enabled.
Translations (menus, categories, products, modifiers)
There are two ways to translate menu content:
- Per item, inline: while editing a menu, category, product, or modifier group, a language selector appears at the top of the form. Switch language and edit the Name and Description in that language. This is the recommended, curated way to translate.
- In bulk: the Massive translate flow (reached from Menu management → Massive upload, at
https://admin.eatsyorders.com/management/massive-upload) lets you pick menus/categories/products/modifiers and auto-translate many at once. It uses a selection dialog (TranslateModalSelect) and shows a progress dialog (MassiveTranslateModal) — keep the window open while it runs ("please do not close this window").
Gotcha: auto-translation is not always accurate. For anything customer-facing, review and fix translations in the per-item editor.
Trash — recover deleted items
Where: https://admin.eatsyorders.com/trash · sidebar item Trash (ES: "Papelera") at the bottom of the menu.
Deleting a menu, category, product, or modifier group does not destroy it — it moves to Trash, where you can restore it.
- Tabs: Menus (ES: "Menús"), Categories (ES: "Categorías"), Products (ES: "Productos"), Modifiers (ES: "Modificadores"). The URL changes to
?tab=menus,?tab=categories,?tab=products, or?tab=modifiers. - Each tab shows the deleted items of that type, with no "new/create" buttons and no search/filter — it's a recovery-only view.
Recover a deleted item
- Open the relevant tab (e.g. Menus).
- In the item's row, open the ⋮ menu and choose Recover (ES: "Recuperar").
- A success message confirms; the item returns to its normal list in Menu management.
Visibility / access gating
- The Trash sidebar item only appears if you hold the
see-trashpermission — that is the single permission that controls the menu link. - The page itself, however, opens for anyone with any one of these permissions:
see-trash,see-resume,see-menu,see-category,see-article, orsee-modifier. So a user who reaches the/trashURL directly (e.g. via a bookmark) with onlysee-menuwill get past the page's permission wall even withoutsee-trash— they just won't see the Trash link in the sidebar. If you have none of those six permissions, the page shows a "you don't have permission" message. - You also need the matching "see" permission for a tab to show (e.g.
see-menufor the Menus trash tab). - The Recover action requires the
edit-trashpermission.
